We at GW Homes can reflect on 2021 with much gratitude for our blessings amid the challenges we have all been facing over the course of the pandemic.
With thanks to our loyal and patient clients, GW Homes has been able to continue our tradition of family-focused home building.
At GW Homes, we strive to be more than just a home builder. We take our mission very seriously – to glorify God by building today for a better tomorrow. This includes a steadfast commitment to excellence in customer service, streamlining the home building and buying process, using only the highest quality products and service providers, and staying on the cutting edge of the latest in new home construction technology and sustainability.
At the outset of the pandemic, many families struggled to find space in their home for everyone to work, attend school, participate in church services, socialize on Zoom, exercise from home, and practice music, dance, sports or other hobbies – in addition to all of the usual activities that our homes are designed to manage, such as enjoying meals and movie nights together as a family and offering a safe place for everyone to sleep soundly at the end of each day.
In Gainesville and Alachua County, our housing market and construction industry alike are inundated with home buyers, new construction, home additions, and home renovation projects. Nationwide, building permits for residential construction are being issued at their highest rate since 2006.
This surge in demand has created a supply bottleneck in the construction pipeline – including everyone from local handyman operations and major commercial construction contractors to individual home builders like GW Homes.
Our dedicated team is rising to meet these challenges and has started implementing a wide range of solutions, including adding to our existing cadre of trusted painting contractors, trim carpenters, shingle suppliers, and more. When our principal vendors experience delays and shortages, we will be as ready as possible with potential alternates and replacements to minimize the impact to our buyer’s home completion and closing schedules, while maintaining the same rigorous commitment to our quality standards.
The good news as we head into the holiday season is that we can continue to look forward with hope, knowing that we are strengthened by our faith in God as we continue to build homes that provide families with the comfort, security, and flexibility to weather the challenges of this unique time in our shared history.
And, as always, we at GW Homes are thankful for the great blessing of families who trust us to help them build the life of their dreams.
